We found this flying “D” logo in a 1974 Dayton athletics game program, and brought it back (or, perhaps, flew it back) today for Flyers fans nationwide. The Flyer nickname and iconography, of course, are references to native Daytonians Orville and Wilbur Wright, who brought the dream of airplane flight to life.
